On March 29th, 2018, Associate Professor Kit Ian Kou of the University of Macau was invited to visit our faculty and gave an academic report titled “Monogenic Signals with Application in Edge Detection” to teachers and postgraduates of relevant majors.

In the report, Professor Kit Ian Kou described in detail how to convert the real-valued signal solution problem into a complex-valued signal solution, and derived a new edge detection method by deriving in the polar coordinate system, and showed the method and Canny, Sobel edge detection algorithm comparison of experimental results.
