Abstract: In this talk, two predator-prey type systems with multiply delays are considered to illustrate how time delays induce the complicated dynamics. A detailed classification framework of stability switches is given analytically and numerically to detect the Hopf bifurcation thresholds of delayed system. Both systems can show rich dynamics including periodic solutions through Hopf bifurcation and the classical period doubling route to chaos. The provided method can also be used to study other delayed systems.
